AM/FM Radio Receive Base Station Antennas

ZCG Scalar manufacture a complete range of base station antennas to enhance AM and FM radio reception. There are antenna models for mounting to a mast, a right-angle bracket, onto a flat roof or to the vertical facia board of a building.

To best improve AM and FM radio reception, the general rule is the bigger the antenna, the better the performance. However, you will find that even the smallest AM/FM antenna in the ZCG range will deliver quite satisfactory results.

All ZCG Scalar antennas are manufactured using only the finest quality components that we know will survive long term in harsh Australian conditions. Every antenna is carefully tuned in the factory to ensure optimum performance.

Mast Mount or Side Mount: Model B20G-N-AMFM

To boost AM and FM radio reception, the B20G-N-AMFM ground independent mast mount antenna offers superb performance. Alternatively, nylon side mounts are available to suit any flat vertical surface.

The white fibreglass tapered radome and stainless steel mount tube stands 3.4 metres tall.

All components used in construction are of the highest quality to ensure the antenna will survive in the harshest environment for many years.

An N-female connector is located at the base of the mount tube.

Mast or side mounting clamps, coaxial feeder cable, connectors and other accessories are all available separately to complete the antenna installation.

Bracket Mount: Model FMRX for FM radio receive

FMRX is an economical and effective base station antenna solution for those seeking to improve their FM radio reception at home or in the office, particularly in situations where signal strength indoors is poor.

Standing 2.06 metres tall, the antenna covers the full frequency range 86 to 108 MHz. Construction is from fibreglass with copper internals and aluminium mount ferrule. The radome is charcoal in colour to help blend in with the surrounding environment.

The right-angle mounting bracket supplied is designed to be screwed on to the facia board of a building or house. The bracket shape is intended to keep the antenna clear of guttering.

The FMRX antenna can also be mounted directly to an iron roof where circumstances permit.

6 metres of RG58 stranded coaxial cable is supplied. Termination is to the rear panel connections of an FM radio tuner.

Mast Mount or Bracket Mount: Model SG1100-TPM antenna tops (no spring)

The SG1100B-TPM black and SG1100W-TPM white antenna tops alone without any barrel spring are available to order separately. These antenna tops can be used to to mount in fixed locations and used as an AM/FM radio receive base station antenna.

The antenna top can be mounted to a bracket, or to a mast, in the following manner :

Route the 5 metre RG58 cable inside and connect to your AM/FM radio receiver.

Bracket Mount: CR series AM/FM mobile whips and bases

The CR series of AM/FM mobile car radio fibreglass braided whips offer excellent performance. Supplied with a mounting base and cable set, these lightweight antennas offer yet another alternative for mounting to a bracket in a fixed location for use as a base station antenna. View details here »

Folding Mount: Models AM80 and B20G/D-AMFM

These AM/FM radio receive antennas with folding swivel base are a single piece construction and contain a tuned section to provide strong resonance at 100 MHz to pull in the normally weaker FM radio signals.

• AM80 stands 2.2 metres tall.
• B20G/D-AMFM is taller at 2.8 metres.

All components used are of the highest quality to ensure long term survival in harsh Australian conditions and will deliver reliable performance for many years.

4.5 metres of RG58 low loss stranded cable side exits from the chromed brass ferrule. Cut the cable to the shortest length necessary prior to fitting the solderless car radio connector supplied.

The MM1 folding mount supplied as standard is constructed from toughened plastic. This base folds down in two directions and also swivels in the opposite plane by loosening the stainless steel pivot bolt. This versatility allows the antenna to be mounted in a variety of positions on any flat surface and at any angle using four screws or bolts.

For those who prefer the ultimate in quality, durability and strength, the MM2 folding mount is constructed entirely from stainless steel. To order either antenna with the stainless steel MM2 deck mount, simply add the letters ‘SS’ to the Order Code.

Folding Mount: Model MA1100, 90 cm

Standing 90 cm tall, the MA1100 antenna with folding mount will significantly improve your AM and FM radio reception. No metal ground plane is necessary for effective performance.

The versatile MM1 folding swivel base supplied makes the MA1100 model a perfect choice for mounting to any flat surface and at any angle desired using four screws or bolts.

5 metres of RG58 low loss stranded cable side exits from the mount ferrule. A solderless "easy fit" car radio connector is supplied.

For those who prefer the ultimate in quality, durability and strength, the antenna is also available with the MM2 folding mount which is constructed entirely from stainless steel. The order code is MA1100SS.
