Collinear Base Station Antennas, 27 MHz to 960 MHz

A collinear antenna offers an omnidirectional radiation patternThe ZCG Scalar range of collinear base station antennas includes models for 27 MHz marine CB radio, 27 MHz land CB radio, VHF frequencies 70 to 174 MHz and also the UHF band 300 to 960 MHz.

Specify your transmit and receive frequencies within the bandwidth limitation indicated and your collinear antenna will be manufactured and tuned accordingly to better than 1.5:1 VSWR.

A collinear antenna offers these features :

  • An omnidirectional 360° radiation pattern,
  • Good gain,
  • Low wind loading,
  • Occupies minimal tower space, and
  • Easy mounting with 2 parallel mast clamps.

The height of these collinear antennas varies according to frequency and gain :

  • The higher the centre frequency, the shorter the antenna.
  • The higher the gain, the taller the antenna with a more narrow E-Plane beamwidth.

Mast mounting clamps, coaxial feeder cable, connectors and other accessories are all available separately to complete the antenna installation.

NOTE : FM Radio Broadcasters should use the G12HP collinear broadcast antenna specifically designed for the purpose and optimised for better than -20 dB return loss.

27 MHz Marine CB Radio Collinear Antenna

Standing 6.2 metres tall and factory tuned for the frequency range 27.680 to 27.980 MHz, the brass and cable internals are fully sealed inside a strong white fibreglass radome and stainless steel mount tube.

The 1 metre cable tail is terminated with an N-Female connector rated for up to 50 watts input power.

2 x UAM180L heavy duty galvanised steel parallel clamps are recommended for mounting.

27 MHz Land CB Radio Collinear Antenna

Download details for the ZM108A-CB Collinear Base Station AntennaModel ZM108A-CB : This ground independent collinear base station antenna is factory tuned for 27 MHz land CB radio communications. The antenna can be mounted parallel to a mast or side mounted to any flat vertical surface, such as the outside wall of a building.

The white fibreglass radome and stainless steel mount tube stands 2.8 metres tall. The internal radiator is copper and the end fed half wave design produces excellent performance. An N-Female connector is located at the base of the stainless steel mount tube. The maximum input power rating is 25 watts. All components used are of the highest quality to ensure long term reliable service in harsh Australian weather conditions.

For mounting to a round mast betwwen 20 mm and 50 mm in diameter, 2 x EB1SS stainless steel parallel clamps are recommended. To mount the ZM108A-CB antenna to the side of a flat vertical structure such as the outside wall or facia board of a building, use 2 x NSM-B20M nylon side mounts.

40.6 MHz Collinear Antenna

This end fed half wave base station antenna consists of a 5 piece anodised aluminium telescopic tube which stands 3.85 metres tall when fully assembled. An N-Female connector rated for up to 50 watts input power is located at the base of the mount tube.

2 x EB1SS clamps are recommended for mounting.

SG series UHF collinear base station antennaSuitable for low power transmit and receive applications, features include :

  • A selection of models each providing a 50 MHz bandwidth within the UHF frequency range 600 to 900 MHz.
  • Modest size at 80 cm tall with an effective 4 dBd gain.
  • Omnidirectional radiation pattern.
  • Completely ground independent, mount anywhere, no metal groundplane is necessary.
  • Rugged fibreglass radome available in Black, White or Brown.

RG58 low loss solid core feeder cable side exits from the aluminium mount ferrule.
N-Female or BNC Male connectors are fitted as standard, although other connector options can be ordered as required.

The stud, nut and washer at the antenna base permits these versatile mounting options :

  1. Simply secure the antenna into any 12.7 mm (½”) minimum diameter hole, route the cable and connect to your radio.
  2. Fit an “L” bracket, such as our stainless steel model “GM1”, to any vertical panel or fascia board. Insert the antenna, fit the washer, tighten the nut, route the feeder cable and connect to your radio.
  3. Order our model “4266” threaded aluminium mast mount adaptor, screw in the antenna and secure to a mast or hockey stick bracket with the “UB3SS” stainless steel parallel clamp. Alternatively, use hose clamps.
  4. For mobile use on a vehicle with bull bar, order the “1269” stainless steel barrel spring with stud, nut and spring washer to fit into any bracket with 12.7 mm (½”) minimum diameter hole.
