Sidemount dipole antennas can cover an exceptionally broad bandwidth

A sidemount dipole can cover an entire VHF or UHF communication band at better than 1.5:1 VSWR. This exceptional broadband coverage makes folded dipoles a perfect choice for use as a base station antenna in numerous applications.

Nominally 0 dBd gain for a single bay, approximately 2.3 dBd of forward gain results by using the mount pole as a reflector at 0.2 wave spacing. Mast to tower distance can be varied to produce the desired radiation pattern.

To achieve higher gain and power, sidemount dipoles can be mounted in stack array formations. ZCG Scalar can supply the necessary power divider or phasing harness, branch feeder cables, connectors and mast mounting clamps.

Sidemount dipoles are constructed from either aluminium or stainless steel. Radiating elements operate at DC ground potential to eliminate static noise and interference.

NOTE : FM Radio Broadcasters should use the B46B sidemount dipole specifically designed for the purpose and optimised for better than -17 dB return loss across the full FM band 88 to 108 MHz.
